The youngster has given up begging a parent for food, at least for the moment
The eagle flew ahead of us on our walk, chased by crows. The bird perched at the north headland and then flew back south.
We had never seen a great blue heron land on the sand. This one was right in front of our house and looked around for several minutes as if wondering where it was.
This youngster looks suspiciously as if it’s been pecked, but probably not.
At the base of a garden we pass when we skirt Asbury Creek. This one looked purely wild.
