Camp NaNo day 6: DISCUSS

Camp NaNoWriMo word count: 7,532 as of 7am, mostly journaling here, but also some revision based on discussion with Ann. A thousand new words each day is, for me, a modest expectation.

Revised novel EMD word count: 74,883 This must be left alone for a few days.

I met Ann and we shared our projects, goals, and fears. Today I need time off.

The storm this morning is impressive. Gary saw on the news that a mile of power poles came down in Seattle. This blowing rain is nothing unusual for us.

    • Camp NaNo allows the writer to choose a goal, and it can be any number of words, pages, or hours. Some people revise a long work while others aim to complete a hour a day or writing 10k words (me) or 30 pages. It is entirely flexible. (You can even change your mind and alter your goal—last year I planned to write 7.5k and changed my goal to 15k when I realized my story was longer that I’d anticipated.)
